Amazon Consulting

Brands face many different complexities; VM and AVS services are increasingly outsourced with lower service levels and less frequent touch points, negotiations are more challenging with Amazon adopting an ‘all ships must rise’ mentality, and brands are adopting hybrid Amazon strategies to hedge their bets against Amazon and competitor actions.

Here's how we can help:

1. Strategy – for brands to succeed on Amazon, long term planning is a must. We generally recommend broad 3-year plan, with prescriptive 1-year plans. This should be done independently of any JBP (joint business planning) that Amazon do with you. We support with account audits and creation of 3 eyar business plans with comprehensive benchmarking and goal setting.

2. Negotiation – AVN (annual vendor negotiations) and AON (always on negotiations) are the most important periods in the year for Amazon vendors. Get these wrong and Amazon can suppress your listings and even bar you from deal events such as black Friday, all whilst requesting additional funding. Marketplace Account Management

D2C sites are important for preserving brand & pricing, as well as retaining more of your margins. But generating traffic is increasingly difficult. But traffic, potential customers, and demand for your products already exist on marketplace and retailer sites. At the very least these marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Tesco, B&Q etc.) are just a search engine to show off your brand, but when done right they capture market share without cannibalising D2C sales.
